Polarization index

Polarization Index is an indicator which gives an idea of the cleanliness of the windings. It is a ratio of the Insulation Resistance Measured for 10 minutes to the insulation resistance value measured after 1 minute. Since it is a ratio; it does not have any units.

Polarization Ratio = Insulation Resistance after 10 minutes/ Insulation Resistance after 1 minute

The Polarization Index should be above 2.0 to be permissible. Machines having PI below 2.0 cannot be operated. The Polarization Index does not have any significant relation with temperature upto 50 deg. C. However, the Polarization Index test should not be conducted at a temperature beyond 50 deg. C

Integrating a product: integration by parts. Suppose we want to integrate Xsin(X). We can integrate each of these functions separately, but how do we integrate the product of them? The answer is we use a technique called "integration by parts". First I'll tell you the formula, then show you how it works with that particular example, and then explain where on earth the formula came from! Here's the method. Buck converter Basics Notes for Designing and Implementation - PART 1 Gathering Info & Calculating Parameters

I am planning to simulate and implement a buck converter in an bread board.So I was searching all over the web for good material to understand and design it.I could find that none of the texts followed at universities is not good enough for implementation of the circuit physically(I really dont understand the reason the universities provide us with such texts to follow and judge every one based on the marks they get by following such texts --- Ever have you wondered why the students with low marks who tries perform so badly...
